Patna, March 28: The state cabinet today approved acquisition of 99 acres of land for construction of a stadium at Rajgir in Nalanda district.

Amendment bills for the Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University and Patna University were approved as was the proposal for three additional centres of excellence under Aryabhatta Knowledge University - mass communication, river studies and Patliputra school of economics.

The meeting chaired by chief minister Nitish Kumar also gave the green light to the draft of the proposed State University Service Commission which will appoint teachers in different colleges in Bihar. The government will lay the approved draft in the House during ongoing Assembly session.

Among the different decisions taken, Rs 27 lakh was earmarked to set up relief centres for women in seven districts.
