Twenty-one IPS officers, including four inspectors-general, were transferred on Tuesday.

This is the first major reshuffle after Jitan Ram Manjhi became the chief minister. However, barring a few instances, most of the officers have been reinstated in the districts where they were posted before the general election.

Rajeev Mishra has been made the new traffic SP of Patna, replacing Satyaveer Singh, who has been asked to join as SP of Bhojpur in place of Kim Sharma, who would join as CID SP (weaker section). Arvind Pandey, serving as IG of Darbhanga zone, has been asked to join as CID IG (weaker section), replacing Alok Raj, who has been shifted to the home department as its special secretary.

Prita Verma, special secretary, home department, has been shifted to Bihar Military Police (BMP) as its IG. A.K. Ambedkar, IG, BMP, has been made IG of Darbhanga zone. Ambedkar was shunted to the BMP despite being a member of the Scheduled Caste.

Saurabh Kumar, who was holding the post of SP (security) in the special branch, would join as SSP of Muzaffarpur. Chandrika Prasad, SP-cum-principal of Constable Training Institute at Nathnagar (Bhagalpur), would be the new SP of Samastipur.

Outgoing Samastipur SP P. Kannan has been asked to join as assistant in the inspector-general’s office in the police headquarters. Katihar SP Daljeet Singh has been transferred and appointed assistant in the inspector-general’s office (welfare) at the police headquarters.

Ranjeet Kumar Mishra, SSP of Muzaffarpur, has been shifted to the special branch and made SP (security). Asgar Imam would be the new SP of Katihar. Imam was earlier posted as assistant director of the state police academy.

Kumar Ekle, SP (weaker section) has been shifted to Darbhanga and made SSP. Jehanabad SP Sayalee Dhurat Sablaram would join as commandant of the woman battalion stationed at Sasaram in Rohtas district.

Additya Kumar, ASP, Darbhanga, would replace Dhurat Sablaram as Jehanabad SP. ASP of Aurangabad Deepak Ranjan has been appointed SDPO, Ara. East Champaran ASP Kumar Ashish has been transferred to Darbhanga as SDPO. Nalanda ASP Awakash Kumar would join as SDPO of Maharajganj. Rohtas ASP Anand Kumar has been shifted to Samastipur as SDPO (sadar). Ravi Ranjan Kumar, ASP of Munger, has been posted as sub-divisional police officer of Khagaria sadar.
