Patna, Aug. 30: Youths of the city are set to celebrate Id in a number of different ways.
Some have planned to savour delicacies, while others have acquired ittar (fragrance) for the festival. Others have also decided to indulge in philanthropy to make the festival memorable for others.
Aatif Jamal never missed school or tuitions despite observing fast through the month of Ramzan.
The Class X student of RPS Residential School went to school everyday. He also attended tuitions for three hours after school. He would break his fast by drinking water or juice during the tuitions.

Only after returning home would he perform Iftar, and eat.
However, for the youth, the abstinence was never hard for he could always look forward to Id-ul-Fitr. As he fasted to observe the rituals of the holy month of Ramzan, he planned how he would celebrate Id.
“I will hang out with my friends. I am also eager to savour delicacies like biryani and sewai that will be cooked at home. A lot of guests will also come over,” said Aatif.
He added: “I am also excited about the money I’ll get from the elders. I’ll use it for Id parties. Though I am in Class X, and need to study, I can’t just let Id pass by.”
Junaid Hussain Khan, 17, has planned to make the festival special for children from impoverished background. He said: “I have already gifted new clothes to children. I will give out a few more on the day of Id. I will also host a party — Jashn-e-Id — for children at my house in Manersharif.”
Khan also observed fast through Ramzan.
Mohammed Sadique Raza, a student of Patna Muslim College, is also enthusiastic about the festival.
He said: “Id is a festival of special importance. I wait eagerly to meet my friends on this day. It is important to use ittar on this day before namaaz (prayer). So, I’ll buy a good perfume.”
