Deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi on Wednesday said the state government has decided to form 1 lakh self help groups (SHGs) in Bihar during the 2012-13 fiscal.

Modi announced this at the Farmers’ Club Award function organised by Nabard, Bihar. Farmers’ clubs are platforms of tillers formed at the grassroots-level. The Best Farmers’ Club award was given to Muzaffarpur-based Kisan Club, while Freedom Mission was adjudged the best NGO. UCO Bank received the Best Bank Award.
