Cooch Behar, June 29: The tourism department plans to spruce up the heritage site of Gosanimari.
Tourism minister Dinesh Chandra Dakua said the department was planning a tourism package covering Kamteshwari Mandir, Kamteshwar Fort and archaeological excavation sites in Gosanimari. A deer park will also be set up at Shalbon, the tourism minister added.
Dakua said a waiting room for visitors would be built in Rajpat, where the Archaeological Survey of India have found relics of the Pala and Sena era. The tourism department will also take up restoration of the Kamteshwari Temple, which was built in by King Pran Narayan in AD 1665.
