Siliguri, Aug. 28: The Northeast Frontier Railway will run three special trains for Assam, north Bengal and Calcutta during the Durga Puja season.

Sources said the three trains would make a total of 28 trips in October and November.

"There will be one special train between Kamakhya and Sealdah. The second and third special trains will run between New Jalpaiguri and Howrah and Alipurduar Junction and Calcutta stations, respectively," an official of the NFR said today.

The trains will have AC, sleeper and general second class compartments. The special train from Kamakhya would also have a pantry car.

NFR sources said train number 02262 would leave Kamakhya station at 8.30pm every Saturday from October 17 to November 14 and reach Sealdah station at 12.30pm the next day.

Train 02261 will leave Sealdah at 12.30pm every Saturday from October 17 to November 14 and will arrive at Kamakhya station at 7pm the next day.

Train number 03059 will leave Howrah at 11.55pm every Wednesday from October 21 to November 11 and reach New Jalpaiguri at 10.10am the next day.

Train 03060 will leave NJP at 12.35pm every Thursday from October 22 to November 12 and arrive at Howrah at 10.50pm the same day.

Train number 03029 will leave Calcutta station at 10.45pm every Sunday from October 18 to November 15 and arrive at Alipurduar Junction at 11.25pm the next day.

Train 03030 will leave Alipurduar Junction at 4.50pm every Monday from October 19 to November 16 and arrive at Calcutta station at 8.45pm the next day.

"These special trains will help clear the rush of passengers during the festive season. Reservations have already commenced. All trains would halt at stations like Kishanganj, Malda Town, Rampurhat and Burdwan on both ways," an official said.
