The look: The theme is the life of the tribals of Jharkhand and the pandal will resemble the huts that they live in, illuminated by diyas and hurricane lamps. The idol will have tribal influences. 

Fun funda: Panchami- Inauguration, stotra path, felicitation of students who have performed well in Board exams, sit-and-draw, antakshari, conchshell-blowing contest, fashion show on the theme “Amra Bangali” for residents aged above 40 years. Sashthi- Music and dance item Sarat Vandana by block ladies’ group Utsah. Kids will enact Manoj Mitra’s Babuder Dal Kukure. Saptami- Ganesh vandana dance, play Sukhi Sansar Dot Com written by the late block resident Vandana Sen. Ashtami- Music, dance and play Sajano Bagan. Navami- Dance.

The look: The pandal resembles the terracotta temples of Bishnupur. the interiors are done up with straw mats, winnowing fans, ink pots and kalkes. Small Durga idols will be placed on earthen plates. There will be a Nataraj statue inside while the walls will be adorned with Ajanta and Ellora-style murals. A big chandelier will hang from the ceiling. 

Fun funda: Panchami- Inauguration, agomoni songs. Sashthi- Kids’ drama Poriksha Pass-er Montro. Saptami- Women’s drama Ashoker Ashuk. The look: A 30 ft bird with its wings spread, set to take flight, atop the pandal greets the visitor who has to walk in under its belly. Artiste Nirmal Malik is depicting the theme Shantir adhare srishti, and the interiors represent a bird’s nest, complete with actual grass and twigs, where creation is supposed to get incubated.  
Fun funda: Inauguration on Chaturthi by Nirmal Banerjee, an elderly block resident, at 7pm. After agomoni songs, children will dance to several songs. Panchami- Block women to stage Tetul Gachh and Sotyi Bhuter Golpo. Sashthi- A variety programme by residents; Trayodashi- Sandip Chakraborty, Bhaskar Bhattacharya and others will sing.

The look: The block has tied up with Gujarat Tourism to recreate Rani ki bhav, an intricately constructed stepwell in Patan that is now a World Heritage Site. Created over a space of 220ft by 180ft, it is a pillared structure with ornate sidewalls.
Fun funda: Inauguration by governor K.N. Tripathi and Swami Atmabodhananda of Vedanta Math on Saturday at 6pm followed by agomoni songs by guest Indrani Banerjee. Residents will perform daily from 6pm to 7.30pm. Navami- Acting contest where a situation would be given and a one-minute time slot to enact. Prize distribution of a previously held football tournament by Mihir Bose, former footballer and a block resident. Music by Dalia and Kundan of Zee Bangla Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2010. Ekadashi- extempore contest and debate on the topic “there is no need to read books in the age of the internet.” The contests are only open to block residents.

Fun funda: Tritiya- Inauguration by children of an orphanage and block children. Dance and music by residents. Saptami- African folk music by some Calcutta-based musicians originally from Trinidad. Ashtami- Manipuri fire dance. Dwadashi- Kids dance Mile Sur Mera Tumhara based on cultures of different states and women’s folk dance.

Fun funda: Chaturthi - Inauguration by Gargee Roy Chowdhury and Satyam Roy Chowdhury at 6pm, followed by agomoni songs by residents, directed by Falguni Das. Panchami- Another agomoni session in chorus, directed by Mina Bhattacharya; semi-classical songs by Falguni Das and Siladitya Banerjee, modern songs by sisters Bidushi and Urbashi Roy Chowdhury. Sashthi- A do-as-you-like for local children; Saptami- Songs by residents on pre-recorded music tracks; Ashtami- Baithaki adda for seniors; Navami- Dhunuchi dance and antakshari contests. All programmes start at 6.30pm. More programmes will be held on October 31 and November 1.
