Jalpaiguri, April 4: The Jalpaiguri police last night raided a unit that manufactured fake soft drinks and distributed them as Coca Cola.

The police have seized the bottles and arrested four persons, including Haradhan Modak, the owner of the unit, since last night.

?We arrested three persons from Mainaguri yesterday, when they were taking the bottles to a shop. After interrogating them, we raided the shop at Sahid Colony in New Jalpaiguri this morning,? Jalpaiguri superintendent of police Rahul Srivastava said.

Shopkeepers at Boulbari and Lakkhirhat areas in Mainaguri yesterday called the distributor at Mainaguri, who, in turn, rang up the soft drink company in Raninagar, asking about the bottles. The company told them that they were yet to despatch the bottles.

?The shopkeepers called us and we arrested the trio and seized the van,? Srivastava said.
