Calcutta, April 20: Mamata Banerjee today said Trinamul MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, who is allegedly seen accepting money in a sting operation, could buy 50 companies like Narada.

"On the way, I heard some people shout 'Kakoli is a thief'. Kakoli can buy 50 such Naradas," the chief minister told 5,000-odd Trinamul supporters at a rally in Dum Dum.

A person resembling the Barasat MP is seen accepting wads of cash in the Narada tapes. In another footage, Uluberia MP Sultan Ahmed is heard telling the journalist posing as a representative of a fictitious company to "help Kakoli".

Mamata has shifted her stand on the Narada issue several times - from crying conspiracy to alleging that the tapes were doctored to suggesting a donation angle to coming very close to admitting that the revelations warranted the ejection of the MLAs seen in the videos from the poll process.

Kakoli, a doctor, was not present in any of the three meetings Mamata addressed today in Basirhat, Barasat and Dum Dum.

The chief minister today accused the Opposition parties of receiving funds from "unknown sources".

"The BJP received Rs 2,200 crore, the Congress Rs 2,100 crore and the CPM Rs 168 crore from unknown sources. The Congress received 82.5 per cent, BJP 73 per cent and the CPM 53.8 per cent from these unknown sources," the chief minister said, holding a bunch of papers.

Mamata said Dum Dum MP Saugata Roy would raise the issue of the "illegal funds" in Parliament after the elections.
