St James’ School on Wednesday launched a digital campus software, which will enable parents to access the report cards of their children and teachers to assign homework to their students online.
“The software has different modules which cover the complete administration process from pre-admission till the time the student takes a transfer certificate. It has been designed and personalised for St James’ and has all the automation and flexibility that is required for a school,” said Terence Ireland, the principal of the school.
Some of the modules in the software are related to admission, payment of fees and generation of e-receipts and accessing exam results and timetable. The software will also enable parents of students to see online what is being taught in class.
The library module will keep track of books and where and how they are being arranged in the library and circulated to teachers and students.
The staff can also get timetable details and generate their salary slips through the staff portal. The students can make online requests for certificates from the school. The principal will have access to the daily, monthly and yearly reports.
Reverend Paritosh Canning, the bishop of the Calcutta diocese of the Church of North India and chairman of the school, launched the software and the app in the school auditorium. “St James’ has shown the way to the diocese of Calcutta. This will be a successful project. After seeing the success of the software here, other schools will take it up,” the bishop said.
