Shillong, Aug. 3: Chief Justice of Meghalaya High Court T. Meena Kumari retired from office today after serving as the first Chief Justice of the state for five months.

Justice Meena Kumari, who turned 62 today, took over as Chief Justice on March 23 following the creation of Meghalaya High Court by the Centre.

Justice T. Nandakumar Singh, a judge of the high court, will take charge as acting chief justice until a replacement for Justice Meena Kumari is announced. Before coming to Meghalaya, Justice Meena Kumari, who is from Andhra Pradesh, served as a judge in Patna High Court.
