Ranchi district administration donates salary to CM Relief Fund

ICICI Bank staff donate gloves, masks and sanitisers

ICICI Bank officials handed over 50,000 hand gloves, 50,000 three layered masks, 240 bottle sanitizers and 70 sets of infrared thermal scanners to chief minister Hemant Soren at his residence.

Soren appreciated their work, saying that the government has taken all necessary steps to prevent and treat the coronavirus, having the support and cooperation of various socio-economic organizations, educational institutions and volunteers.

The officials of ICICI Bank told the chief minister that the bank is constantly distributing sanitisers, gloves, thermal scanners, PPE kits and other safety kits in all the districts of the state.

They also added that the bank has borne the construction cost of the thalassemia ward in Sadar Hospital, Ranchi.

Among those ICICI Bank officials present were Rajesh Kumar Mishra (Regional Head, Sales), Rakesh Kumar (Regional Head, Retail Branch Banking), Madhav Chaudhary (Chief Manager) and Aditi Ghosh (Senior Manager).

Ranchi deputy commissioner Rai Mahimapat Ray donated Rs 21 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund on Friday, where he deposited one day’s worth of salary collected from the officers and employees of the district administration.

The amount includes a cheque of Rs 8 lakh, Rs 3 lakh received from the sale of sanitisers by the district administration, and Rs 10 lakh aid money from the district's CBSE schools.

Ray appreciated the many organizations and officers who are coming forward to help in the coronavirus crisis.

“It is certainly a matter of pride for the people of the state,” Ray said.

He told chief minister Hemant Soren that all officers and employees of the district administration will be ready for help, so that they can beat the viral pandemic.
