“Winning the first two games was important as it set the tone for the remainder of the tournament. The victories have given us a morale booster ahead of our third match and we want to make it three out of three. The atmosphere in the camp is good and the players are enjoying themselves when they are on the court,” said Thunderbolts’ hitter Cody Caldwell, who is from the US.

Ashwal Rai, who is the defending champions’ captain and middle-blocker, spoke of the balance in the team and their practice of learning from mistakes. “Our squad is well balanced with youth and experienced players... We as a group always discuss our strategy before the game and learn from our mistakes. I feel that our best is yet to come,” Ashwal said.
