Portugal crashed out of the tournament in the round of 16, but Cristiano Ronaldo had enough goals in his kitty by then. Despite England captain Harry Kane being in the race till the very end of the tournament, the Portugal captain has won the Euro 2020 Golden Boot.

Ronaldo finished as the top scorer at the European Championship with five goals. The Juventus main man had the same number of goals as Czech Republic forward Patrik Schick, but he eventually clinched the award because he had an assist.

Here are the top five goalscorers in Euro 2020:

1. Cristiano Ronaldo (POR) 5 1
2 Patrik Schick (CZE) 5
3. Karim Benzema (FRA) 4
4. Emil Forsberg (SWE) 4
5. Romelu Lukaku (BEL) 4

Portugal might have not, but Ronaldo had a great tournament. He broke Michel Platini's record of most goals in the European Championship, and also equalled Ali Daei's tally of 109 goals for a men's international team.

Donnarumma named Player of the Tournament

Gianluigi Donnarumma was named player of Euro 2020 moments after the final finished, the first goalkeeper in tournament history to be so honored. Donnarumma made two saves in the shootout, blocking kicks from Bukayo Saka and Jadon Sancho in the 3-2 shootout victory following a 1-1 draw through extra time. The 22-year-old Donnarumma, who is reportedly moving to Paris Saint-Germain next season, was sobbing on the shoulder of an Italy team staff member after saving the final penalty kick from Saka.

"It's an incredible night," Donnarumma said.

"If I am the best player of the tournament it is also thanks to (Leonardo) Bonucci and Chiellini. We were extraordinary, we are very happy." Donnarumma also saved a penalty from Alvaro Morata in the penalty shootout victory over Spain in the semifinals.
