Trainer K.S.V. Prasad Raju’s less-fancied runner, Citi Storm, walked away with the Speaker’s Cup, the main event at the Hyderabad races held on Sunday. Apprentice Ashhad Asbar, who partnered the six-year-old to victory, had the horse settled in the rear till a furlong from home before coming in with an electrifying run to beat Flying Rudolph, a fancied runner.
The 1,100m Chief Justice of A.P. Cup was claimed by the Shehzad Abbas-trained Chiquelle who had the measure of the course-favourite, Chestnut Charmer — from V. Deshmukh’s yard.
