Brisbane: Ben Hilfenhaus made a comeback to one-day International cricket after a gap of more than two years. And on his return, he bagged five wickets, including the prized scalp of Sachin Tendulkar.
At the post-match presentation ceremony, stand-in Australia captain Ricky Ponting praised his bowlers for the 110-run victory.
The following are excerpts
Ricky Ponting: It was a very good performance. I thought our score was just above par on this wicket. The pitch surprised us a bit at the start of the day as the new ball was holding a bit more than we thought it would. I knew that the kind of total we got, was an excellent batting effort. The bowlers were also outstanding.
Ben Hilfenhaus: I am glad to be back in the one-day squad… I think today ee put some good runs on the board and it was a good team effort.
I couldn’t get Sachin (Tendulkar) in the Test series, so I had to get him sometime. So, getting his wicket was really satisfying… It was special!
