Calcutta: South Africa have accused an Australian media house of harassing captain Faf du Plessis after its reporter was involved in a confrontation with a team security guard at the Adelaide Airport on Monday.
Du Plessis has been charged with ball-tampering by the ICC during the second Test in Hobart.
Du Plessis will know about his fate when he faces an ICC hearing on Tuesday afternoon, the ICC announced late evening on Monday. The hearing will be conducted by ICC match referee Andy Pycroft and will start at 10:30 am IST.
A statement from team manager Dr Mohammed Moosajee on Monday said the Australian media, and Channel 9 in particular, had been advised that Cricket South Africa (CSA) Du Plessis are not in a position to comment on the ball-tampering issue until the hearing was held.
In the statement, Moosajee also said that this was the third incident of a reporter "aggressively harassing" South African players.
"Despite our best to intentions to co-operate with the Australian media, Channel Nine News' behaviour has been disappointing."
