Virat Kohli (108) is the quickest to reach ten ODI centuries. Kohli took 80 innings, while Gordon Greenidge 99, Herschelle Gibbs 105, Marcus Trescothick 107 and Brian Lara 109.

The 205-run second-wicket partnership between Gautam Gambhir and Kohli is now the 19th double century stand in ODIs for India. Seven of them have come against Sri Lanka.

Kohli and Gambhir become only the second pair in ODIs to have three double century partnerships in ODIs. The only other pair to do so being Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly.

The Gambhir-Kohli partnership is now the joint highest second-wicket stand on the ground. They equalled the record set by Salman Butt and Younis Khan against India, on June 14, 2008.

This is the highest 2nd wicket stand in the Asia Cup, bettering Sehwag-Raina’s 198-run stand.

Gambhir and Kohli now have six century stands.

Kohli has been involved in the last 4 double-century stands that India have registered in ODIs

205vs SL, Mirpur, March 13, 2012 — with Gambhir

209*vs England, Delhi, Oct. 17, 2012 — with Gambhir

203 vs Bangladesh, Mirpur, Feb. 19, 2011 — with Sehwag

224vs SL, Calcutta, Dec. 24, 2009 — with Gambhir

Kohli and Gambhir both have three ODI hundreds at Mirpur.

Kohli also becomes the first Indian batsman to score back-to-back centuries in ODIs on two occasions. He had scored an unbeaten 133 vs Sri Lanka in Hobart on February 28. Kohli had scored 118 & 105 against Australia and New Zealand in October-November, 2010.

Mahela Jayawardene, when on 55, registered 1000 runs as an opener in ODIs. Jayawardene now has 1000-plus runs in all positions from opening till No. 5.
