The employee, who is an accountant of the department, wrote that his family is going through extreme duress since he did not get his salary for several months now and has asked for poison from the SDM to end his and his family’s lives.

“…I would like to enlighten you that my wife and I have repeatedly requested you to kindly make payment of my monthly salaries. But unfortunately I have not received any response from your end till date. My family is passing through difficult days for the want of money. In the above circumstances, I, therefore, request you kindly arrange to supply poison by December 23, 2019…,” Brajalal Debbarma wrote in the letter.

Asked about the issue, Das told The Telegraph, “I am not aware of any such letter. The claim which he has made is not true since only two months of his salary is pending because we have not received his work report.”
