HANDICRAFT WORKSHOP:

The South Guwahati Weavers and Artisans Co-operative Society Ltd, Hatigaon, will organise a handicraft workshop mainly on jute, cane and bamboo crafts in association with the regional design and technical development centre, office of the development commissioner (handicrafts), ministry of textiles, on May 11 and 12 at Hatigaon, Guwahati.

Competitions:

Prantashree, an Assamese monthly, will hold quiz, drawing and recitation competitions at Dhalaibil in Sonitpur district on May 14 at 9 am.

CONCERT:

A concert featuring Felixis, a local band from Shillong, will be held at Asom Kristi Kendra, Dhankheti, Shillong, on May 17 at 2 pm. The band has performed in the metro cities in India as part of the great Indian rock project, which featured 12 of the best bands from all over India.

Celebrations:

The Uttar Pub Naobaisa Sanmilit Yuba Mancha will celebrate Rongali Bihu till May 11. Various competitions like Mou Konwari, Bihu Konwari, Husori, group Bihu dance and Uka Bihu will be held.

The Lakhtokia Fateha-e-Dowaz Daham Samiti will celebrate “Milad-e-mehfil” on May 18 at Lakhtokia masjid number one at 6.30 pm.

Theatre:

A 45-day drama workshop will be held from May 12 at Kala Bhawan, Janji Jamuguri Natya Samaj. It has been organised jointly by Sankardev Natyagusthi and Phulpanisiga Anchalik Puthibharal and Yubakendra.

Josthi Natyam will stage Shyama Prasad Sarma’s full-length play Amritam Samay on May 21 and 22 at Rabindra Bhawan, Guwahati.
