Imphal, April 1: Tekcham Polo Club drubbed KMMRS (C) Singjamei by 9-1 goals in the 31st State-Level Polo Tournament at Mapal Kangjeibung today.

Tekcham opened its account with Kh. Tombi Singh netting the opening goal in 1.31st minute.

However, KMMRS rider L. Rohit fetched the equaliser in the 2.21st minute to level scores 1-1.

But the experienced Tekcham team soon got cracking when S. Sadananda and S. Dhaneshwar consolidated to make it 3-1 goals in the first chukker. In the second chukker, Teckham raced ahead with S. Ranjit and S. Sadananda striking a goal each to tighten their grip with 5-1 goals.

In the third chukker, Tekcham riders pumped in four more goals.

S. Sadananda smashed home two more goals while Kh. Tombi and S. Ibohan chipped in with a goal each.

In another match, Khurai Polo Club (B) beat Thoubal Polo Club (B) by 6-1 goals.

Volleyball

NYVA Noarem made it to the quarter-finals beating YMDO (B) 25-15, 25-19, 19-25, 25-17 in the second sub-junior boys' Volleyball Tournament at Saodungpung ground.
