Guwahati, May 5: Sivasagar registered their third straight win defeating Biswanath Chariali by seven wickets in their match of the second Umananda Bora Under-13 Inter-District Cricket Tournament at Barsapara Cricket Stadium here today.
Put in to bat, Biswanath Chariali batsmen could only manage 83 runs before being all out in 32.3 overs. Dipankar Bora scored 19 runs off 49 deliveries with three hits to the fence while Doikho Das with 13 runs off 24 balls was the only other batsman to reach the double-figure mark. The side received 27 runs in extras.
Archis Gogoi picked up three wickets for 16 runs in seven overs while Deepjyoti Sarma and Krishi Agarwal bagged two wickets each.
Chasing a meagre total, the Sivasagar boys got past the target losing three wickets in 18.3 overs. Despite two early blows in the first over, Jarzoo Mili and Minhaz Wamim Ahmed steered the innings to safety. Ahmed went on to remain not out with a steady 19 runs off 45 deliveries while Mili chipped in with 18 runs off 27 balls.
Rajdeep Handique topscored for his side with an unbeaten 27 runs off 33 deliveries which featured four boundaries.
Abhinash Gupta picked up two wickets conceding 14 runs in five overs while Nabajit Tanti scalped one wicket going for 11 runs in his four overs.
Morigaon will play Nazira tomorrow.
