Itanagar, Feb. 14: Mere Vichaar Andolan Committee, a conglomeration of six organisations from Arunachal Pradesh, today submitted a memorandum to governor P.B. Acharya seeking intervention into the death of former chief minister Kalikho Pul.

The demand before the governor comes in wake of the exposure of purported contents of a 60-page booklet, Mere Vichar (My Thoughts), believed to be written by Pul by a news portal on Wednesday. The chief minister had hanged himself at his residence here on August 9.

The committee has been formed to seek justice for Pul.

In a news conference today, the committee demanded a re-investigation into the case based on the FIR lodged by Pul's wives and not on the one lodged by his personal security officer.

Convener Kaling Tasing said the probe which was initiated by the state government was over and yet the original copies of the booklet were not made public.

While questioning the stance of the government, it said the investigating officer who was assigned to look over the case has gone "missing" after he submitted the report.

"Investigating officer R.K. Jha is nowhere to be found. Despite all our efforts to contact him, he is untraceable," said Tasing.

The committee has sought a CBI probe on the allegations made by Pul in Mere Vichaar.

It wants chief minister Pema Khandu, deputy chief minister Chowna Mein and parliamentary secretary for tourism P.D. Sona to step down till the time the investigation takes place.

The committee has threatened to launch an agitation if its demands are not met.
