Imphal, Feb. 13: Manipur Police Sports Club (B) came up with their maiden win today. It defeated Young Social Service Union 2-1 in the first Young Social Service Union Men’s Open Trophy Cash Prize Sepak Takraw Championship in the opening match at Sagolband Nepra Menjor Mamang Leikai in Imphal West. Nine teams are participating in the meet, being organised under the aegis of the All-Manipur Sepak Takraw Association. There will be 10 matches tomorrow.
MCA plate cricket: Eastern bowler Shangkar Singh rattled PCC Mayai Koibi with a six-wicket victory in the 1st MCA Plate Tournament at Luwangpokpa cricket stadium today. Batting first, PCC Mayai Koibi batsmen fell like a pack of cards before Shangkar, who claimed six wickets. Rajiv Singh got two wickets for Eastern Sporting Union, which reached the target losing four wickets from 17.3 overs. Shangkar got 12 runs while Roshan Singh scored 11. All-rounder Shangkar was declared Man of the Match.
T-20 cricket: Manipur were defeated by 20 runs at the hands of Bihar in the first Inter-State T-20 under-25 Cricket Championship organised by Nagaland Cricket Association at Sovina cricket ground, Dimapur, today. Bihar scored 117 for eight while Manipur were bundled out for 97 for nine.
