TURA FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Tura, Nov. 21: Druma Sandruma thrashed Maram Football Club with 4-0 to lift the Tura Football League trophy in the Super Division match at Dikki Bandi Stadium here on Saturday.
In the first half, Misorsing Marak scored in favour of Druma Sandruma. Later in second half, Misor scored two more goals. Jacky Sangma scored the fourth goal for Druma.
Tura Football League is a professional tournament held for the past four years by the District Football Association, Tura. It comprises three categories - Division B, Division A and Super Division.
Abdul Salam of Maram FC was declared the Player of the League.
The project director of the District Rural Development Agency, Dikki D. Shira, and the president of DFA, Jasper Marak, gave away the trophies and cash prizes to the winners and runners-up.
Druma player Jacky Sangma bagged the Player of the Final title and the Best Half. Bising Marak was the Best Forward and the title of the Highest Scorer of the series went to Misorsingh Marak, who scored eight goals.
Silrak Marak of second Meghalaya Battalion was the Best Goalkeeper. Rikrak Marak of Maram won the title of Best Defender.
On Friday, Chipakkore Football Club defeated West Balalgre to win the title of Division A.
Both the teams will play in the Super Division in the next season.
Jaksram Marak and Chigrik Sangma of Chipakkore bagged the Best Goalkeeper and Best Defender's title. The Player of the League and Final Match titles went to Silsrang Sangma.
