Militants surrender Probe Body found Road rage

Militants surrender

Shillong, May 5 (PTI): Three Ulfa militants, including a senior leader, surrendered before police in Meghalaya on Thursday. Two AK-47 rifles, two M20 pistols and several rounds of ammunition of both the weapons were found on them.

Probe

Silchar: Police have begun a probe into Wednesday’s accident in Mizoram’s only aerodrome at Lengpui, 38km from Aizawl, involving a Cessna Casanova, a nine-seater aircraft, the superintendent of police, Aizawl, Lalbiakthanga Khiangte, said. Another inquiry was also ordered by the directorate general of civil aviation into the causes of the accident. A senior official of the DGCA arrived in Lengpui on Thursday to conduct the probe.

Body found

Jorhat: The body of Gutu Ghatowar, 20, of Senchowa line in Jorhat district was found on Thursday near the railway tracks at Rowriah.

Road rage

Jorhat: An irate mob damaged a Maruti car in Mariani town in the district on Wednesday after the driver hit a person and tried to escape. The police brought the situation under control and seized the vehicle.
