The New Town authorities will conduct a door-to-door survey after Puja to seek out people with symptoms of Covid and dengue.

Health workers will visit cooperative societies, standalone buildings and housing complexes across the three New Town action areas to take down details of all family members, ask them if they have received one or both doses of the Covid vaccine and if they had any Covid or dengue symptoms, an official of the New Town Kolkata Development Authority (NKDA) said.

If a health worker finds a person has a Covid symptom, surveillance in the neighbourhood will be intensified to find out if anyone else in the locality has symptoms.

Surveyors will check for likely places for freshwater accumulation in and around homes, the official said.
