With the November nip in the air as Kolkata gears up for the bridal season ahead, designer Jyotee Khaitan put together a dazzling couture collection of menswear and womenswear and presented it in her recently organised show at Hyatt Regency Kolkata’s newly launched al fresco set-up Incog. The visual display of aesthetic architecture, strings of blubs as decor element and music complemented the glitz and glam of the outfits on the ramp. Held after three years, the show was a star-studded one showcasing a host of Jyotee Khaitan signatures revamped to fit the season and contemporary taste in fashion.

June and Saurav Chatterjee were the ‘it’ couple on the ramp, who walked as showstoppers with designer Jyotee Khaitan. June channelled a flawless look in a black sequinned sari with scallops along the edge and a beautiful fall. Saurav complemented June in a black bandhgala embroidered with pink
Father-daughter duo Saswata Chatterjee and Hiya won all hearts with their walk on the ramp. Saswata in a velvet embroidered black bandhgala. Hiya in her first appearance on the ramp sported a Jyotee Khaitan signature black-and-gold concept sari paired with a sequin blouse
Koushani Mukherjee and Bonny Sengupta stunned the ramp in Jyotee Khaitan couture. Koushani in a gold sequinned corset lehnga, paired with an organza dupatta and crystal belt. Bonny in a regal blue tone-on-tone resham-embroidered Indo western paired with straight trousers
Devlina Kumar and Gourab Chatterjee channelled a pinch of their real life romance on the ramp, too, as they walked holding hands. Devlina in a gold sequinned zari and resham-embroidered lenhga detailed with maroon floral motifs and paired with a scalloped-edge organza dupatta. “The last show I did was three years ago. Since we couldn’t do any other shows in between due to Covid, this one had to be a gala one. We showcased a bridal, party and festive collection in this show. The highlights of the collection were the colour gold, sequins, embroidery and drapes. We incorporated trends like corset lehngas, metallic fabrics and bling. I don’t look at one particular thing to find my inspiration. I know what my clients like. Gold is in for this season and bling and metallic are in demand as people were stuck in their homes for a long time due to Covid and couldn’t wear such outfits. The month of November and the newly-opened Incog at Hyatt beautifully complemented my collection and people were happy to be there,” said Jyotee Khaitan.
