The Experimenter art gallery at Ballygunge Place is going to host the second session of Ponchishey Paanchtay/25th@5, the latest offering from ThinkArts, at 5pm on June 25.
Under this initiative, ThinkArts invites children and their grown-ups to visit exhibitions at art galleries and museums on the same date and at the same time every month. The event aims to engage youngsters with cultural spaces like art galleries and museums on a regular basis.

Image courtesy: authorLaunched on May 25 at Ganges Art Gallery this year, Ponchishey Paanchtay immediately attracted children and young adults.
Antara Dasgupta, ThinkArts programmes associate and intern, told My Kolkata how more than 25 youngsters and their seniors had got hooked to the works of the artist Swapan Nayak in the first edition of the event.
“Nayak’s exhibition — Museums of Innocence — had on display a collection of photographs created through the gum-dichromate method. The visitors asked the artist many questions and he patiently explained everything to them,” Dasgupta said.
Speaking on the initiative, ThinkArts founder Ruchira Das said theatre and art experiences must be indispensable for children because such exposures helped them perceive the world.

Image courtesy: author“All the work we bring and create are designed to acquaint children with different creative methods. The aim is to enable them to share their inspirations and ignite their imagination,” she said.
“As a mother and an arts professional, I think visiting an arts space together as a family is a wonderful way of creating a shared experience that provides an opportunity to learn and discover together. We hope that the initiative would create unique memories for the visiting families," she added.
Founded in the year 2015, ThinkArts projects have over the years reached out to over 50,000 individuals around the country.
