u Do not slouch. Align the angle of the seat’s backrest and sit in a comfortable position.

u All controls of the car should be at an arm’s length.

u Wear dark glasses. The glasses should be photosensitive and non-reflective in case of sunny weather.

u Do not drive barefoot and do not wear a tight belt.

u Carry a first-aid box.

u Keep drinking water and eat fruits throughout. Avoid oily, greasy and heavy food.

u During breaks, bend forward and hug your legs.

u Step out of the car, rotate your shoulders at least 10 times forward and backward and also shrug 10-15 times. This will help you relax.

u If it’s a 20-hr drive, join a gym to strengthen the muscles before starting off. “The stronger the muscles, the more the muscular endurance and less the fatigue and cramps,” says Heble.
