Tired of carrying your clothes to the dry cleaner or washing them at home? Well, worry no more, for now you can get your clothes and woollies dry cleaned at the click of the mouse.

All thanks to CleanUncle, a laundry website launched by Dhanbad-born techie Manoj Agarwal (26), which picks up your dirty duds from your doorstep and delivers fresh, clean clothes back. And all at pocket-friendly rates.

Dhanbad residents can avail the service by logging on to www.cleanuncle.com. Customers will have to register themselves to place orders. They can choose their desired pick-up date, location and time and, similarly, settle for a delivery date and time.

"Two huge plants equipped with imported machines and deep water boring facility have already been installed at Panduki Industrial area at Barwaddah and Saraidhela areas near Dhanbad Chemical while a third plant is being planned at Sindri," said Agarwal, a BTech from SRM University in Delhi.

CleanUncle, with its office at Bank More, offers three categories of laundry services: regular (for daily needs), premium (impress the world) and express (fast delivery).

While the regular wash is available at Rs 15 per garment, hygienic wash is tagged at Rs 30 per garment in premium category and for fast delivery customers have to pay anything ranging between Rs 35 to Rs 38 per item. Besides, stain removing, perfuming, polishing, bleaching, lather care, carpet dry cleaning, shoe dry cleaning, sofa cover dry cleaning facilities are also available at affordable rates.

"As most of our work is mechanized, chances of errors are minimal. Customers can be assured of quality service as the process of washing, laundry and dry cleaning is done in best-class set-ups with Italian equipment and German chemicals," said Agarwal, who left his job at Tata Consultancy Service, to start the e-laundry facility at his hometown.

A mobile app, he added, was in the offing - likely by January 30 - while more services, like plumbing and carpentry, would be on offer soon.

Why laundry?

"Working for three years in Delhi, I decided to do something on my own in my hometown. Then, I decided to launch a start-up and zeroed in on online laundry. This concept, which is already in vogue in cities like Bangalore, is an application of technology and e-commerce," Agarwal explained.
