Ranchi: After exploring the dark shades of a journalist in his debut novel Beyond News, scribe-turned-author Sanjeev Shekhar has come up with his second book highlighting the sexual desires of a woman.

Shekhar, who is also an HR professional at Essar Power Jharkhand, launched the book titled Deadlock at Press Club in Ranchi on Saturday.

Several dignitaries like Indu Agarwal, director of commercial audit, CAG; Ajay Malkani, director of art and culture department of Ranchi University; Vandana Singh Jharkhand High Court advocate, among others were present. State urban development secretary Ajoy Kumar Singh was present as the chief guest.

The book tells the story of Misha, an independent woman who is unapologetic about exploring her sexuality and choices even after marriage.

It available both on Amazon and Flipkart at Rs 247 and also in other local book stores.

"The book explores love, romance, thrill and humour. Several gender issues have been highlighted," said Shekhar.

He further said he got the idea of writing the book from his school days when he had come across a girl who had a different approach towards life. "There's nothing more braver than a woman who is independent in her choices," added Shekhar.

Some of guests who were present at the book launch had already read the book and couldn't stop recommending it to others. "It's a great read. The book tells the story of an independent woman who is not a hypocrite but at the same time is willing to explore relationships," said Indu Agarwal.

"This could be the subject of my next play. It raises a question about what is ethical and unethical to the readers, which has been further explored in terms of human relationship," said director of Yuva Rang Manch Ajay Malkani .
