Patna, Nov. 7: Answerscripts of 500 engineering students of two colleges affiliated to Bodh Gaya-based Magadh University have gone missing and the university has blamed the railways for the mix-up during transit.
The university has already slapped a legal notice on the North Eastern Railway (NER) because it did not respond to repeated queries on the whereabouts of the answer papers.
Pro vice-chancellor R.P. Sharma said the matter was being further examined by a special committee of the university and if necessary, an FIR could also be filed.
The university had despatched the answerscripts of third year students in two packets to examiners at the Institute of Technology, Benaras Hindu University (IT-BHU) in May but only one got delivered.
“The lapse has affected the career of 500 students. We have also lodged a formal complaint with NER’s chief commercial superintendent in Varanasi,” Sharma said.
Sources in the university’s said the students may finally be awarded average marks in the paper concerned.
