Bokaro/Dhanbad, May 29: Like the Plus Two exam, students from districts have done better than its city counterparts in the CBSE Class X exam, results of which were declared today.
Garima Goswami of DAV Public School Koylanagar in Dhanbad topped the chart in the state with 98.6 per cent in aggregate. Brototi Roy of DPS, Bokaro, came close second with 98.2 per cent.
The maximum marks a student in Jamshedpur and Ranchi got was 98 and 97.2 per cent, respectively.
Breaking all previous records, DPS, Bokaro, students came out with flying colours as all the 219 students of the school got high first division.
The top 10 students of the district are from the same school — Smita Priyadarshini (97.4), Sumit Kumar and Manish Anand (97.2), Ameey Anupam (97), Keshaw and Rajnish (96.8) and Bhagyashree, Sharda and Aditya Gaurav getting 95.6 per cent each.
According to principal Hemlata S. Mohan 99 students of her school got more than 90 per cent while 173 students fetched more than 80 per cent marks to break all records.
Nidhi Bharti of Chinmaya School got 95.8 per cent marks to top in the school followed by Tanay Mitra who got 95.6 while two students of Guru Govind Singh Public School Nilanshu Jaiswal and Prativa Kumari fetched 95.4 per cent to top in their school.
Garima told The Telegraph: “I want to join the Indian Administrative Service after completing a course from IIT.” While Brototi, a classical singer, has her dreams set on software engineering.
Pranay Ranjan with 97.6 per cent topped Delhi Public School, Dhanbad, closely followed by Gautam Kumar Singh scoring 97 per cent.
Avanish Kumar of Pentacostal School, Bokaro, kept the record of his school quite high by getting 94.6 per cent .
