Rebels set bus ablaze

Banned MCC extremists set ablaze a passenger bus in Kandaghaee on Daltonganj-Patna road under Vishrampur police station at 2 pm. The militant outfit had reportedly set fire to the bus after the owner of the bus refused to pay them levy. According to police sources, a bus named Basa was going from Daltonganj to Sasaram (Bihar). MCC extremists stopped the bus and told the passengers and driver to get down from bus before setting fire to the bus.

PW stalls train

People’s War extremists had pulled off a hose-pipe in a passenger train in Demu railway station in Latehar district on Monday morning. The passenger train was stalled at the railway station for three hours. Latehar district police superintendent Deepak Verma said about 5-10 armed extremists came to the railway station and disconnected the hose-pipe.

Exam centres

Ten examination centres have been made in Hazaribagh to conduct the teachers’ recruitment test. The police officials said three DSPs were sent to monitor the security arrangement. According to them, tight security arrangements have been made at the centres. Police forces have been deployed both inside and outside the centres. Buses remained off the road due to the two-day bandh. Only few small vehicles were plying on the roads.

Body found

A beheaded body was found in Barkagaon forest on Monday. The police had identified the victim as 40-year-old Dayamani Mishra of Langatu (Barkagaon). The police said they were investigating the matter. Earlier, another body was also recovered from the same area. The body has been sent to Hazaribagh for autopsy.

Medical camp

Nearly 400 odd patients were registered at the free medical camp organised by the Vanvasi Kalyan Kendra at Bundu in the outskirts of the capital. The Kendra has been organising medical camps every month for the past five years without government assistance, according to a press release.

Mental health

Deepshikha, an institute for child development and mental health, will start a diploma course in 'Special Education' (mental retardation) in the last week of June. Candidates interested in opting for the two-year course will have to go through an educational tour and training in community-based rehabilitation.
