Threatening to tarnish the image of people or repute is the “modus – operandi” of Subodh Kumar Sinha. He invites the press representatives and gives a statement regarding evasion of income tax by builders, traders and businessmen in general.

The follow-ups are carried by M/s B.G. Singh and S. P. Choudhury, inspector of income tax, Jamshedpur.

Threatening information on surveys are conveyed to create a panic among the businessmen by the above two inspectors from time to time.

They also give solutions and on the pretext of their being able to call off the surveys, large sums are extracted from these businessmen.

Subodh Kumar Singh was planning to survey the office of the proprietor of Messrs Frontline Associates, who is the income tax awardee “Sammanee” and enjoys a 5 year-income tax vacation but was not spared. The instituted survey was aborted as chief commissioner, Ranchi, and officers of CBDT were informed about his motivated action.

It is surprising that Subodh Kumar Singh’s career in the income tax department was spent in Ranchi and Jamshedpur. Most of the period was spent in Jamshedpur, which could be more than 12 years.

He has been able to manipulate all his transfer orders. He is a known alcoholic and does not attend the office for days together. He was able to obtain a stay on his last transfer to Calcutta for six months, which had expired on 31st March 2004 but he is still in Jamshedpur for vested interests.

Thanking you

Yours truly
