The road construction department has already issued a public notice with regard to the closure plan of the road as well as alternative routes to be followed during the closure period.

Notably, the 2.4 Km road is lying in extremely dilapidated conditions for the last two years with potholes and waterlogging making the journey on the road difficult.

Besides the repair, the broadening of the road up to four to seven meters will also be carried out as part of the project.

Meanwhile, following the closure of the road for a fortnight the vehicles coming from Katras and Bhuli and heading towards Dhanbad will be diverted on Wasseypur flyover from Binod Bihari Mahto Chowk from where they will reach towards Dhanbad passing through Ara More. Others plying from Bhuli and Katras towards Dhanbad town may choose to divert towards Birsa Munda Chowk in Barwaddah from Binod Bihari Mahto from there reach Dhanbad through Memco More.

Meanwhile, the vehicles moving towards Bhuli, Tetulmari and Katras will be diverted to Nayabazar, Subhash Chowk, Ara More and Wasseypur flyover or otherwise will go to Binod Bihari Mahto from Ara More to reach Bhuli, Katras and Tetulmari.

Talking to the media, Dinesh Prasad, Executive Engineer of Road Construction Department said, “We will be carrying out broadening as well as strengthening of the road as the road is quite narrow at several locations and also lying in bad shape.
