Ranchi, March 13: She shares her name with popular singer Alisha Chinai and, like the popstar, is aiming for the hall of fame.

Meet Ranchi girl Alisha Singh, 18, who has created quite a stir in the world of glam and glitter by making to the top 12 in reality show Dance India Dance, aired on Zee TV. Alisha arrived in the capital today to meet her well-wishers and parents.

At the show, she has impressed the judges with her choreography, stamina and facial expressions.

Her journey to fame was not an easy one though. She had to put in a lot of hard work and contend with a number of other hopefuls from across the country to reach the finals. The teen had to prove her expertise in dance forms such as like ballet, acrobat, shadow dancing and mid-air dancing.

Asked what was the best comment that she had received from judge and disco king Mithun Chakraborty, she promptly replied: “Ranchi ki rajkumari. This comment boosted my morale and I was determined to reach to the top level,” Alisha said.

Alisha, a first-year commerce student of Ranchi Women’s College, Alisha said that she was looking forward to settle in Mumbai. “Our city lacks dance schools and hence, first I want to open a dance school here where different dance forms will be taught,” Alisha added.

Alisha also received offers to act as assistants to famous choreographers such as Ahmed Khan. “Besides, I also got an offer to be a dance teacher in London Dance School. But I did not accept it. I want to win Dance India Dance first,” she said.
