Admission a click away |
St Xavier’s School, Hazaribagh, has decided to go online with its admission forms for prep for the 2015-16 session.
According to principal Father P. J. James, the forms, along with the prospectus, will be available on the school website from October 28 to 31. Only, 200 seats are available.
“What parents will have to do is to download the forms from our website www.sxshzb.org. The website will have all information regarding basic eligibility, fees etc. The filled up forms will have to be submitted to the admission counter on the school campus. At the time of form submission, parents will have to pay Rs 500 as the cost of the prospectus,” he added.
Father James said that the school would not sell any form from the counter this time.
According to sources, the school decided to release forms online to avoid any confusion and chaos like previous years.
Last year, over 500 people queued up in front of the main gate from 3am following rumours that the cradle would issue only 300 admission forms, badly disrupting traffic on the Hazaribagh-Giridih Highway (NH-100).
“To counter such rumours, the school has decided to sell admission forms online. We don’t want such trouble again. It will be convenient for parents too,” Fr James claimed.
In Hazaribagh, St Xavier’s is one of the most sought-after schools and everyone wants to enroll his or her ward with this prestigious cradle. Several institutes have mushroomed in the town to cash in on the demand by preparing kinds for the admission to the school.
Around 2500 students study in Classes from Prep to standard 12 at the school.
The school has started a helpline number (91-4433124500) in September, through which the authorities inform parents individually about holidays. Also, it has started sending SMSes to parents if their wards are absent on a particular day.
“We are working on a plan to start online fee payment,” Fr James said.
