Ranchi, Nov. 7: The Marxist Co-ordination Committee today resolved that the only remedy to any popular crisis was socialism and the lessons learnt from the Bolshevik Revolution could free Jharkhand of exploitation and social turmoil.
The party organised a massive rally at the Jaipal Singh Stadium to commemorate the November revolution. Veteran trade union leader and former MP A.K. Roy called upon the people to do away with capitalism and restore social values.
“Only values can bring about a change in the social set-up. Values are fast eroding and have no place in politics. The meeting today resolves to imbibe values to save people from economic and social slavery,” Roy added.
He the after the collapse of the socialist structure of Russia, there was no one to challenge the United States which was acting like a dictator.
In August 1991, due to a larger capitalist conspiracy, the socialist structure collapsed. With the collapse, poverty, exploitation, unemployment racism and corruption have staged a comeback in Russia, he said. The party contended that while Jharkhand has become the grazing ground for contractors and the mafiosi on one hand, on the other it has become a battlefield for pro and anti-domicile and reservation groups. “The Jharkhand of Birsa Munda’s dream is nowhere to be found,” Roy lashed out.
“The message of the November revolution is to generate a massive cultural revolution by virtue of the class struggle so as to bring about a change, which can be brought about not only by a change in government but by changing the whole system,” Roy said. The meeting presided by the president of the organisation Abdul Rauf expressed concern over the rampant closure of industries in the new state. “The new economic policy with liberalisation, privatisation and globalisation has spelt doom for the the domestic industries,” a resolution passed after the meeting said.
