Ranchi: Taking a step towards digitisation, Ranchi group commander of NCC Brigadier Shankar Prasad on Tuesday launched a website for NCC cadets associated with the Ranchi group.

The website, www.nccranchi.org, was launched on the campus of 3 Jharkhand Battalion NCC at Karmatoli Chowk in the city in the presence of around 100 cadets associated with various units of the group.

"Digitisation is taking place across the world. Thus, Ranchi Group of NCC has also taken a step forward in this direction. All important information will be available on the website. Important information on time of recruitment, employment opportunities for NCC certificate-holders and training camps for the NCC cadets will be posted on the site," NCC Group Commander Brigadier Shankar Prasad said.

Asking cadets to ensure proper use of the site, Prasad said he would be happy when cadets benefit from it.

Senior under officer (SUO) Kumar Neeraj explained how the website would help him.

"Now I will not have to go to office for each and every information.I can refer to the website in case of any confusion."

Quarter Master Sergeant Akhil Raj echoed similar sentiments.

"The website will bridge communication gap. Information can be had at the click of the mouse," Raj said.

The website was designed by a group of former cadets.

Incidentally, it was also the last day of service for Brigadier Prasad who was also given a farewell by the NCC officials and cadets after the launch of the website. As part of tradition, NCC officials towed Brigadier Prasad's vehicle out of the campus using a rope.
