Patna, July 30: A special task force of Patna and Nalanda police rescued 15-year-old Aishwaria, a Delhi Public School student who was kidnapped from the city earlier this week, from a dingy house in the interiors of Nalanda district late this evening.
Notorious gangster of Bihar Sharif, Chukhu Sao, was killed in the raid, which was led by Nalanda superintendent of police Amit Lodha. The student has been united with his family in Patna. Police sources said the criminals had kept Aishwaria in a small room in Chanar Bigha village near Noor Sarai.
After police recovered the Maruti van the criminals had used to kidnap the student from Nalanda, they launched intensive search operations in that district. The zonal inspector-general of police also rushed to Nalanda today after receiving information on the progress of the operations.
Aishwaria’s case is an exception because the victim’s family did not have to pay ransom to get their ward back. “I have seen the Nalanda SP in action. He is very brave. I want to be like him,” Aishwaria said.
Patna senior superintendent of police N.H. Khan called the rescue a major success and gave the credit to the joint team headed by Lodha.
