Ranchi, Jan. 20: With just four days left for its election, the Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FJCCI) is witnessing a flurry of activities.
Forty-two candidates, including three women, are in the fray this time. The candidates have been divided into two groups — each of 21. While one group is led by FJCCI’s present honourary secretary Suresh Chandra Agrawal, current vice-president Anchal Kinger is heading the other group.
Both the groups released their manifestos today. In his manifesto, Agrawal has made 14 promises. These include taking the FJCCI to block level, establishing cordial relationship with the commercial tax department, developing infrastructure for regular power and water supply besides ensuring proper conveyance, sanitation and safety measures in commercial area. The manifesto also assures health insurance to businessmen with the help of government support.
Agrawal said that they would make all efforts to fight extremists by providing job opportunities in rural areas with the help of government.
The manifesto released by the Kinger group makes 26 promises, including efforts to bring industrial land under free hold. It also assures establishment of trade centres in the state on the lines of Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. Other major points include taking proper measures to reduce the impact of recession.
