New house of hope for BJP party

The state BJP might not be expanding but the party has acquired another building, right behind the existing state headquarters at Harmu Road, Ranchi.

The party is beset with internal problems with various factions out at each other?s throats. Party insiders point out that the present ground, plus the three-storied office, is unable to house the many party factions that are functioning with an added problem ? the former organising party secretary, who has been occupying the third floor, is yet to shift out.

They believe the new building, after necessary renovations would be earmarked mostly to the many BJP cells and their office bearers who at present do not even have a place to sit. Party men also hope that the new building might even fetch them some good luck, which seems to elude them at present, with the former chief minister Babulal Marandi and his Jharkhand Vikas Manch breathing fire.

Office marriage mantra

He may not have gone for a honeymoon and may have let his wife go home, while he himself left Ranchi airport in a separate car after returning from Mumbai on Wednesday, but home minister Sudesh Mahato is not unromantic, if his close friends are to be believed.

The busy minister apparently is very ?possessive? about his wife and keeps talking to her whenever possible. Then why does he avoid getting photographed with her?

To satisfy the curiosity of the waiting press, a close friend explained: ?It is not that Sudesh is not courteous or had forgotten to escort his wife to the car, but he avoided it because he is shy of being photographed. Also because he was in a great hurry to attend office.? Nothing?s better than marriage to make a person cherish office then?

Hearts on fire

Those who call the fire brigade for fun could be in trouble now.

Those calling the fire brigade using their mobile phone to ?douse their hearts on fire? may get their lines disconnected. Letters have gone to all service providers mentioning the numbers of those, who have pulled such pranks in the past. Ranchi police, on their part, have made a request to locate the persons.

The police have decided that after identifying the people, they would be ?summoned? along with their guardians. Primarily, there will be a ?dressing down? and if the offense is repeated, the young people could well find themselves dousing a different kind of fire altogether.

Congress weaknesses

Overheard Congress MP from Godda Fukhran Ansari, who admitted that the ?Congress is weak in Jharkhand.? One reason for this according to him was that the senior leaders of the party were being ignored in the party set up.
