The results are expected to be out on jac.jharkhand.gov.in but without the usual ceremony that JAC conducts on such occasions because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Every year, class 10 results of JAC are declared in a grand ceremony at the JAC building in the presence of either the education minister or the education secretary.

“The evaluation process is complete and we are trying our level best to declare the class 10 results this week itself,” said JAC chairperson Arvind Singh.

The class XII results, he said, will be declared in the last week of July if everything goes as per the plan.

The lockdown, he said, delayed the evaluation of answer sheets by at least two months, but the evaluators did a good job of completing the process on time. The evaluation of answer sheets for class X and class XII began on May 28.

Singh said that the answer sheets of class 10 and class 12 exams were evaluated under CCTV surveillance in special evaluation centres. All social distancing norms were followed at the centres, he added.

Around 6.21 lakh students had appeared for the board exams under JAC this year at 1410 centres. The exams were held from February 11 till February 28.

The evaluation of papers was done in 67 centres of 19 districts in Jharkhand from, said Singh. More than 9,500 evaluators are engaged in the task, he added.

A majority of students appearing for exams under JAC come from backward and Left Wing Extremism-affected rural areas of Jharkhand.

Last year, JAC declared its class X results on May 16 and class XII results on May 21.
