Heads meet for quality

Bokaro, June 25: To keep pace with the changing scenario of school education in the country and develop Jharkhand as an education hub, heads of more than 24 institutions in Ranchi, Bokaro and Dhanbad convened a meeting at DPS here on Monday evening.

The principal of a leading school here revealed that the meeting was convened on the direction of two reputed educationists and a senior politician.

Explaining why the media was not informed about the Monday meeting, the principal said she had instructions from the top politician to keep the meeting “confidential.”

The principals of the schools decided in the meeting to intimate the state government to help them out just on the lines of the southern states that encourage schools in all respect to excel at national-level.

The leading schools, which participated in the meeting includes DAV, Ranchi, DPS, Loreto, Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Pentacostal Assembly School, Mount Carmel and St Xavier’s, sources revealed.

The principal of DPS here, Hemlata S. Mohan, said that the meeting was held to improve the educational atmosphere of the state and even table the grievances and difficulties of the prominent schools before the state government. She said a core committee of few members would attend another meeting soon to be held in Jamshedpur.

Few months ago, Governor Syed Sibtey Razi had praised the schools in the state during a visit to Bokaro.
