Jamshedpur, Aug. 19: The East Singhbhum district unit of the BJP today observed Kala Divas (black day) to protest against the governor's decision to give time to chief minister Madhu Koda to prove majority in the floor of the House.
The party leaders burnt the effigy of the UPA government at Mango and Sakchi. The West Singhbhum district unit of the BJP also hit the streets in Bistupur to protest the action of the governor.
The BJP activists sporting black badges flayed the UPA government, including the Congress, for playing with the sentiment of the people and shouted slogans against the governor, Koda, JMM chief Shibu Soren and the Congress leaders for creating the political crisis.
The Mango unit of the BJP staged a nukkad natak (street corner play) at Khudiram Bose Chowk in Mango.
Despite rain, the party's Jamshedpur West legislator Sarayu Roy and senior leaders Amarpreet Singh Kale and Raj Kumar Singh participated in the demonstration. “We are thankful to our senior party leaders for being present in our programme braving inclement weather,” said Vikas Singh, the executive committee member of the BJP’s youth wing.
