Jamshedpur, Oct. 28: The office of the state director of industries today appointed Adityapur Industrial Area Development Authority (Aiada) as nodal agency for India International Trade Fair 2010 scheduled to be held in New Delhi at its Pragati Maidan grounds between November 14 and 27.
Confirming this to The Telegraph, Aiada secretary Shivendra Singh said: “We received a letter in this connection from the director of industries. As a nodal agency, Aiada has been entrusted with the responsibility of finalising stalls and taking care of other logistics at the fortnight-long fair in the national capital. We will take the responsibility to supervise the construction and do up the décor of stalls at the Jharkhand pavilion spread across 24sqkm in the fair. The pavilion will have industrial and other products on display. Beyond business, the pavilion will also reflect the state’s vibrant culture and tradition.”
A senior state industry department official added: “The industrial development authority at Adityapur will also be accountable for expenses incurred at the fair and will chalk out programmes for state VIPs who are supposed to visit the fair.”
Aiada’s counterparts in Ranchi and Bokaro, Riada and Biada, respectively, will also take part in the international trade fair.
Industry sources said that several manufacturing units in the small, medium and large-scale categories located in each of the three industrial hubs — at Adityapur, Ranchi and Bokaro — are eagerly gearing up to display their products at the international fair.
Their keenness is understandable. Billed as one of the top draws in the national capital’s business exhibition calendar, the global fair provides a platform and strategic business exposure to all participants across diverse industry verticals.
Aiada was last appointed as a nodal agency at the India International Trade Fair in 2001.
