Sushant Singh Rajput’s father Krishna Kishore Singh has accused the actor’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty and five others of abetting his suicide in an FIR registered in Patna on Saturday.

The six, who are accused of blackmailing Sushant and extorting money from him, include Rhea’s parents Indrajit Chakraborty and Sandhya Chakraborty, brother Shauvik and managers S. Miranada and Shruti Modi.

Sushant, who had carved out a place for himself in Bollywood and had delivered several hits, was found dead at his Mumbai home on June 14. He was 34.

“An FIR has been registered against Rhea Chakraborty under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including abetment of suicide on a complaint given by Sushant Singh Rajput’s father,” inspector general (IG) (Central range) Sanjay Singh said.

The FIR was registered at the Rajiv Nagar police station, the neighbourhood where Sushant grew up and where his father owns a house.

It alleges that Rhea and her family usurped around Rs 15 crore belonging to Sushant, and were blackmailing him on various pretexts, including threats to leak information that he was undergoing treatment for depression.

The FIR also accuses the actress of keeping Sushant away from his family, leaving with many of his belongings on June 8 and abandoning him at a time he was struggling with depression and had broken down because of the suicide of one of his managers. Disha Salian, who had been Sushant’s manager, died on June 10.

The FIR has been registered under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 306 (abetment of suicide), 321 (voluntarily causing hurt), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (wrongful restraint), 342 (wrongful confinement), 406 (criminal breach of trust) and 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property).

Sushant’s father has also sought a probe into the role of the doctor who was treating Sushant and whether his son had taken an overdose of the prescribed medicines.

A team of Patna police officers reached Mumbai on Tuesday for the probe.

Rhea, 28, had tweeted and appealed to Union home minister Amit Shah earlier this month for a CBI probe into his sudden death.
