Mumbai, Feb. 28 (PTI): Shah Rukh Khan underwent a successful neck surgery at a London hospital to overcome a nagging back problem, film industry sources said here today.

Shah Rukh underwent the two-hour surgery on Wednesday and will be discharged on Sunday, they said. He would be staying in a London apartment for at least three weeks before flying back to India to complete shooting for a couple of movies.

Khan sprained a muscle in his neck in December 2001 and had been to London last year also for treatment.

The actor, who took a late night flight for London last Saturday after receiving the Filmfare award for best actor for his performance in Devdas, was suffering tremendous pain due to back problem.
